Local police have worked together with students at Brady Primary school on a poster competition to raise awareness on safe parking outside of the school gates along Wennington Road.
Students created fantastic posters which were all converted into leaflets providing information on safe parking and how to report parking issues to both local parking services and the Met police.
Volunteer police cadets hand delivered these leaflets to local houses, speaking to and explaining the initiative to residents.
All the posters were fantastic and were used in the leaflet drop, but as it was a competition, 4 lucky winners were each presented with a certificate and a fantastic ‘Challenge Coin’ from Chief Inspector Charlie Routley.
Well done to Caelyn Pham, Bobby McNamara-Huntley, Lacie Thompson, Phoebe Maynard and Tegan Hopkin.
Chief Inspector Routley said ‘This is a fantastic example of where the younger community help us create a safer place for people, especially children, to live and work. Illegal parking is dangerous and puts young people at risk. Id like to thank them all for being so positive in this fun competition, with a serious message.’
Illegal / Dangerous parking can be reported direct to parking services or the Met Police via the following links –
